Construction work for the I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Project has been cancelled again today, Jan. 13 due to forecasted rains and wet surface conditions.

Night-time freeway restriping work is now scheduled to begin Thursday, Jan. 14.  A revised schedule of segmented freeway closures is as follows:

Thursday, January 14:

  • 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. – eastbound I-10 connector
  • 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. – westbound I-10 connector

Friday, January 15:

  • Midnight to 5 a.m. – FULL FREEWAY CLOSURE from I-10 to Santa Monica Boulevard (Ramp closures may begin as early as 7 p.m. on Thursday, followed by lane closures at 9 p.m.)

The initial segment work between National Boulevard and I-10 will be rescheduled for a later date.

Construction schedules are subject to change.

The closures are necessary to enable striping work as part of the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV, or carpool) lane construction on northbound I-405 between the Santa Monica Freeway (I-10) and the Ventura Freeway (U.S. 101).
Up-to-date construction schedules, including planned freeway segment closures and detour maps are available online at metro.net/I-405.  The project hotline number is 213-922-3665.
