To help you reduce the stress of your daily commute Metro provides information on options to driving alone. We provide information and services to employers and commuters in Los Angeles County. Metro makes it easy to find the information you need in just a few clicks.


Your current method of transportation may not be the easiest or fastest way to get around in Los Angeles. Metro offers many ways to share the ride. Try taking the bus or train to work, or join a carpool, vanpool or school pool. Other options include walking, biking or telecommuting. For more details on how to share the ride, click on the links to the right.


If you are driving a distance of 30 miles or more and vanpool might be the best option for you. Metro provides $400 monthly vanpool subsidy for each vanpool to reduce transportation costs. Vanpool usually start the commute from a Park & Ride or other designated location. A driver is selected

You ride Metro. Your boss pays.

Get your employer to buy your pass.

Get your employer to buy your pass and ride Metro bus and rail seven days a week. Metro has annual and monthly pass programs designed to help your employer buy passes as a benefit to you. Your employer will like it too, because providing Metro passes help[s improve employee morale, health and attendance.

Metro offers pass programs that make it easier and more affordable than ever to subsidize employees’ transit costs. For a transit pass program to be effective Metro recommends that employers subsidize at least 50% of the cost. Employers may qualify for Commuter Benefits, which significantly reduce the cost of the subsidy.

Metro Annual Transit Access Pass (A-TAP)—Instead of distributing passes every month, provide employees with annual Metro passes.  It saves you time.

Metro Business Transit Access Pass (B-TAP)—Buy an annual pass for every employee at a special group rate.

Metro Mail – Encourage use of transit by ordering monthly passes for your employees. Order your passes on-line or by mail.

Find a better way to get your children to school

Metro School Pool helps alleviate traffic at your children’s school by providing free information and tools to help you save time and get your children to school safely. Metro School Pool is a voluntary program, so there is no obligation to parents! It’s easy… talk to your child’s school about enrolling in Metro School Pool to get started.

There are so many options to getting your students to school and Metro wants to help. Options include carpooling, walking and bicycling, using public transit, or offering school bus service. In addition, setting up drop off lanes or a valet service at your student’s school promotes a safer school environment. Find out what other schools are doing to help alleviate traffic and make commuting to school safe!
